During this trip you will be able to enjoy the most impressive virgin mangroves and rainforests of our beautiful country Costa Rica and visit one of the most emblematic natural parks in the world, Tortuguero National Park.

In Tortuguero you will stay in a world-class hotel, Mawamba EcoLodge. Also, you will stay in Rios Tropicales EcoLodge. Both hotels come together for creating an unforgettable experience in Costa Rica.

Tortuguero National Park offers you the most impressive mangrove forest in all Costa Rica. Amazing species such as Jaguars and pumas hide in these incredible ecosystems. The Tortuguero canals will take you deep into the Park where Mawamba EcoLodge is located. A dream place completely disconnected from the world we normally know.

In Tortuguero you can do different nature tours and you can also visit the beach at night to observe the sea turtles making their massive spawning.

After Tortuguero we will bring you to the incredible virgin jungles of the Pacuare River. In which we will enjoy an incredible rafting experience in the jade colored waters of the Pacuare River. There you will stay in the Ríos Tropicales EcoLodge, hidden inside the rainforest of the Pacuare River.

The Pacuare River is a true natural paradise. With a magnificent jade color, the Pacuare River is a true gem in our beautiful country. The river has an amazing rainforest, with gigantic hundred-year-old trees. Your whitewater rafting tour on the Pacuare River will be unforgettable. In fact, the Pacuare River is currently listed as one of the best rivers in the world for rafting.

Your rafting tour will go through the virgin jungle, in which we will navigate class III, IV rapids and depending on the season the rapids sometimes increase to class V. During the adventure you can enjoy observing the most incredible rainforest sightings possible and listen to the magnificent sounds of animals in the jungle like monkeys and toucans.

Day 1:

• Pickup at your hotel.
• Typical breakfast at Río Danta Restaurant in Guápiles.
• Departure to Caño Blanco dock.
• Arrive at the dock and board a river boat for your ride to Tortuguero National Park.
• Lunch at the pool restaurant of Mawamba Lodge.
• Optional visit to the Village of Tortuguero with your guide.
• Delicious dinner at the restaurant.

Day 2:

• Breakfast at Mawamba Lodge.
• Tour with a naturalist guide of Mawamba Park: butterfly farm, frog farm and garden, iguana farm, bio-digester and gardens.
• Lunch at the pool restaurant.
• Afternoon canal tour to a different canal than the one visited the previous day.
• Dinner at the pool restaurant.
• Optional tour (night walk on private trail)

Day 3:

• Breakfast at Mawamba Lodge.
• Return boat ride to Caño Blanco dock.
• Bus ride and transfer to Rios Tropicales Operations Center.
• Lunch.
• Load up for transport to Pacuare River.
• Safety orientation and paddle instruction with professional guides.
• Class II-III rapids as you enter the Pacuare River, delightful afternoon rafting and primary rainforest.
• Arrive at Rios Tropicales EcoLodge.
• Welcome cocktail and snacks
• Delicious dinner with candle lights at Ríos Tropicales EcoLodge

Day 4:

• Delicious typical breakfast.
• Pack and prepare to continue the adventure in the Pacuare River
• Class III- IV rapids on the Lower Pacuare and Gorge
• Lunch at the Rios Tropicales Operations Center
• Transportation back to your hotel
