Caño Island Snorkeling Tour

About this tour

The Caño Island Snorkeling Tour is a complete ocean. The tour departures at the Sierpe Dock or at Drake Bay. The tour guides will be on board and will explain to you about the operation of the activity.

Caño Island is well known to be one of the best places for diving in all Central America. So, if you do not have the PADI diving certification, no problem, because the diving tour is as good.

About the tour:

The boat navigates the entire maritime area of Calo Island and Part of the Marino Ballena National Park, where you can observe the incredible rock formations. You can observe sea turtles, dolphins and a huge number of pelagic birds nesting on the island. During the navigation trip the boat stops at a few areas of Caño Island for snorkeling. The guides will point you to a coral reef, this is where you can observe many beautiful fish of different sizes and colors.

At the Pacific Ocean of Costa Rica, we have two whale watching seasons, which happen in January and February (first season) and July, August, September, and October (second season). The second season is the best, because the whales bring their newborn whales and stay for a long enough period to feed their newborn babies, as they will need to be strong enough to survive the very long migration they do to the south of America. Then, you would have a high chance to observe some whales jumping out of the water.

The boat has the snorkeling equipment and will bring some delicious snacks and drinks to fully enjoy the activity.

The tour also includes a typical meal, which is served after the activity.
